Application

What are AHAs?

AHAs are acid exfoliants that work to slough away the dead skin that lives on the skin’s surface - helping dull skin to look brighter again. They also work to reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, scars, and uneven skin tone.

Glycolic acids are powerful antioxidants known for their superior abilities in accelerating dead skin cell sloughing, pore tightening and stimulating cell turn over.

Lactic acid is an effective exfoliant that encourages cell turnover and evens out skin tone, while helping the skin hold on to moisture.

Breaking down BHA(Beta Hydroxy Acid)

Compared to AHAs, BHAs exfoliate at a deeper level to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. They can help to reduce redness, inflammation and blemishes.

    Fabulous!

    I bought this as a little treat yourself and what I really love about this product is that when I wash it off my skin is FLAWLESS. No redness no reaction overnight with acne or roscea or anything it just does what it's supposed to do and you're left with a beautiful, radiant, moisture rich glow! I don't think this is an ESSENTIAL product but I do think you should treat yourself if you're a mask enjoyer like myself.

Fruit enzymes are a type of protein that offers a safe and gentle form of exfoliation to the skin as opposed to abrasive granules. Fruit enzymes exfoliate the skin by breaking down dead skin cells at the surface. The enzymes literally dissolve the dead skin cells from your face, making way for fresh new cells to come through. Because they exfoliate the top surface layer of the skin, fruit enzymes won’t over-exfoliate as other products would.

Fruit enzymes are a great natural exfoliant for your skin as they are more gentle and less abrasive than other exfoliants. They are very effective for all skin types and mild enough to even use on sensitive skin types. The main benefits of fruit enzymes is they provide proper exfoliation to the skin without irritation or inflammation and also won’t mess with your skin’s pH. Use our plant-powered Jojoba & Enzyme Radiance Mask with natural AHAs and BHAs to reveal brighter, smoother skin.

Enzyme masks exfoliate the skin by dissolving dead skin cells. When you have an enzyme mask applied to your face, you may notice a slight tingling or cooling sensation as the enzymes in your mask go to work digesting dead skin cells. If you do have sensitive skin, you may notice that your skin appears slightly pink or red after treatment, especially if it’s your first time.

After applying an enzyme mask, you may feel a slight tingling sensation. This is completely normal, and just means the mask is working away at your skin. However, if an enzyme mask doesn't tingle, it also doesn't necessarily mean the mask isn't working. It depends on each person's skin type.

The pH of our Jojoba & Enzyme Radiance Mask is 3.75.

The pH is a numeric scale that indicates how acidic or how alkaline something is. If you alter your skin's pH (which normally sits at a pH of 4.7) it is thought to alter how healthy the skin is.

When choosing an AHA/BHA exfoliant, you'll want to find a product with a pH of less than 4.

The concentration of AHA in the Jojoba & Enzyme Radiance Mask is 9%and the concentration of Salicylic Acid (BHAs) is 1%.

The rule of thumb is to look for an exfoliant with:
● An AHA concentration of 4-10%
● A BHA concentration of 1-2%
